Welcome to iSchoolSource.com's 123's section where you will find many preschool learning enhancement tools for iLearning all things numbers. We have reviewed many videos and apps that reinforce counting, number recognition, and beginners math skills for preschool aged children. 

Jumping Grasshoppers

Jumping Grasshopper is a free counting app for young children. Children tap on the grasshopper to get him to hop to the next lily pad, and as he does, a number pops up. Each hop counts Jumping Grasshopper's way through the lily pads, while teaching a child to count. A fun little app for children learning to count.

Learn to Count with Shawn the Train -- Learning Movie

An adorable video with Shawn the Train has a Shawn the train teach children how to count by counting different items on the train. Shawn's voice is cute and grabs children's attention as they watch and learn to count by watching. Our four-year-old tester, Zoe, could not help but watch as the Shawn the Train counting video played. We at iSchoolSource give this YouTube video a thumbs up as a free educational video to help children learn how to count their numbers.

Counting Song with Numbears!

Children love learning through song, and this is very true with our 4-year-old tester, Zoe. She continually wants to watch the Numbears sing numbers 1-11. The 1-11 song in this video is very catchy, because it is to the tune of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. This helps young children memorize counting through 11, and gives them a love for numbers that will stick with them forever.

Learn to Count to 20 Video

Learn to Count to 20 is a simply cute video that has children's voices saying the names of the numbers on the screen. Our preschool tester instantly became interested in watching as soon as she heard the children's voices begin counting. Learn to Count to 20 is a short video that is great for reinforcing counting skills, as well as number recognition for preschool aged children.

Learn to Count 1 to 10

Learn to Count 1 to 10 is a simple and free counting video that demonstrates counting by showing pictures of different things, and having a hand go over each object as they are counted. Watching counting videos like this one can help children learn to count multiple objects, no matter what the object is. Learn to Count 1 to 10 is an excellent learning enhancement video for preschool children learning to count objects.

Counting to 100


Counting to 100 is an excellent video that children can watch to help them learn to count from 1 to 100. There  is not any music with the counting, but each number is displayed on the screen as numbers are counted up to 100. Using a video like this one is sort of like using flashcards, or taking a child through numbers sort of like when using Hooked-on-Phonics cards. For a child who already has a familiarity with counting to 100, using this type of counting video can be excellent for a child to practice counting along with. If a child messes up or gets off track, having a video to that says what the number was supposed to be can help them learn. Counting to 100 is an excellent source for learning enhancement with counting to 100.

123 Animals Counting Lite Free -- App School

123 Animals Counting Lite Free is a really fun way for children to practice their counting skills. This app allows children to practice counting animals. The app verbally asks how many of a certain animal there are on the screen. Then, child can touch each animal as they count, and the app says the number along with the child. Also, as a child touches the animal, a number is placed over the animal to help child remember they already counted that animal, which can be a huge help when learning to count.

123 Christmas -- App School

123 Christmas is a fun and free app for preschoolers that allows children to help Santa stuff his bag with goodies by counting. Children tap on the objects above Santa to count, and the objects get loaded into Santa's bag. For any child learning their counting and number skills, this holiday app is sure to keep their interest.

iPlay&Sing is a FREE App for Pre-School aged children for learning and all around fun. The iPlay&Sing App allows you child to customize the App with their name and a photo. If your child does not wish to use a photo, they can choose one of the images within the game to represent them. iPlay&Sing allows child to choose whether they want to trace numbers or letters, play piano or sing, guess the next letter or number, go through a maze, pick the odd one out, paint a picture, or find the proper number, letter, shape, or animal. This app also rewards your child with praise and a smiley when they get the correct answer. This App is a good everything app, and is sure to please any Pre-School aged child.

123 Numbers FREE for iPad -- App School

123 Numbers Free for iPad is a colorful app that can be used as a preschool learning enhancement for children learning their numbers. The app is a basic numbers app. As seen in the screenshot below, child can touch any of the numbers to hear what number it is. Also, when a number is chosen, a screen comes up with that number and some cute objects like the lady bugs seen below. The cute pictures make the app interesting. It doesn't have any counting features that we can see, but it does help reinforce number learning. A parent or teacher can easily help child count the cute pictures if they want, making 123 Numbers Free for iPad a good number learning help.

Math Bug Lite is a free beginners Math App. The graphics are really cute, and there are many levels to choose from. Our four-year-old tester did need help with Math Bug Lite to use it, because the App does not have a voice. A Parent or Teacher may have to coach child at first to play, but once child understands what to do, there should be no problems. For children to play Math Bug Lite, they will need to know how to count, have number recognition skills, and understand adding and subtraction basics. Depending on an individual child's skill level, we at iSchoolSource feel that Math Bug Lite Free is a good Free App for children at the pre-school level on up through early elementary levels.

ABCs and Me -- Best Apps for Kids

ABCs and Me is a free Pre-School app in the App Store. iSchoolSource is fairly impressed with this free App, because there are no ads at all, the graphics are cute, and this App covers most anything. There are not any sort of games on this App, but it does allow children to go through colors, shapes, numbers, and the alphabet, as well as other pictures.




This App is good for children to explore, see, and hear what letters, numbers, shapes, and colors are. This App is great for young children through Pre-School aged children, as well as children with Special Needs.
