The colorful pictures keep the mind stimulated and interested, while the pleasant sound of the ABC tune plays. A train of alphabet letters scrolls across the screen as the song plays. Such a cute ABC learning video.

http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/hooked-on-phonics/id318331495?ign-mpt=uo%3D4 Most people have heard of Hooked on Phonics for teaching children to read. While Hooked on Phonics does not have any Apps available for download from iTunes, they do offer some wonderful free podcasts for learning. These podcasts are actually videos that can be downloaded for a preschool aged child that is learning letters, as well as other preschool aged songs. There is a podcast with a video song for each letter of the alphabet, as well as other songs like The Itsy Bitsy Spider. These podcasts are free, and our four-year-old tester LOVES them. For the parent or teacher that is looking for something to enhance lessons on the different letters, these videos can be valuable. They use song to teach the letter concept to the child, which helps increase child's ability to remember the letter and its sound.
ABC Alphabet GoGo Flashcards Free is a wonderful flashcard app. When the app is first opened, the alphabet song is sung in the background. Aesop's Wheel of Fables is a storybook App by the makers of Stickery. Aesop's Wheel of Fables is a free iPad Native App in the App Store that reads fables to your child. Child simply spins the wheel to choose which fable they want to hear. Then, child clicks on the 'read story' button at the bottom of the page, and app opens up to the story, and reads it to your child.
It is really hard to find fault with a free app that reads fables to children. If we at iSchoolSource were to list one fault, it would have to be that the app does not highlight the words as story is read to your child. This is not a big thing, though, and this app is wonderful. Every child is sure to love Aesop's Fables. - Posted from my iPad
ABC Alphabet Phonics Song App is a wonderful Music and ABC learning app for preschool aged children. The app is free, and simple to use. Simple touch to open the app, and it begins singing through the alphabet. Each letter that is sung swirls over the screen and takes its place in order. A phonics version of the song may also be chosen to help teach children their phonics sounds.
ABCs and Me is a free Pre-School app in the App Store. iSchoolSource is fairly impressed with this free App, because there are no ads at all, the graphics are cute, and this App covers most anything. There are not any sort of games on this App, but it does allow children to go through colors, shapes, numbers, and the alphabet, as well as other pictures.
This App is good for children to explore, see, and hear what letters, numbers, shapes, and colors are. This App is great for young children through Pre-School aged children, as well as children with Special Needs.
LeapFrog Scouts ABC Garden App in the App Store is a wonderful app for pre-school aged children. The iPhone/iPod native App costs 99 cents in the App Store. While the App is for iPhone/iPod, the app works wonderful in 2X mode. I have to say that this app is well worth the 99 cents. My 4-year-old daughter enjoys playing this app for longer than many of the free apps, because Scout and Violet (Characters in the game) really seem to interact with her. Scout and Violet talk directly to my daughter, and explain what she is supposed to do. At first, my daughter would get in a hurry, and not listen to what Scout or Violet would say. I feel that my daughter has learned a valuable lesson in listening by playing this game, because when she would get in a hurry, she did not know what she was supposed to do. I explained to her that she needed to wait and listen to what she is supposed to do. Now, when she plays with this app, she patiently listens to the instructions, and she enjoys the app. The app takes my daughter through lessons on different letters, but each lesson is fun and interactive. I highly recommend this app as a learning tool for both listening and for learning the ABC's.
